Tye Sheridan is one of the more recent graduates from a child and teen star status he was born on November 11, 1996; the first child of Bryan and Stephanie Sheridan. Since birth, he has lived in a small east Texas town, approximately 3 hours North of Houston. His family has resided in Elkhart for many generations. Here we take a look back at his childhood and teen roles.

From a very early age, Tye has been involved in the outdoors, especially when it comes to fishing and hunting. He has attended Elkhart Independent School System since kindergarten and has always achieved academically; finishing top of his class every year. Aside from academic success, he has excelled at many sports throughout his lifetime – as a small child on the pee-wee league of football and baseball, as an eighth-grader playing cornerback on his junior high football team, and as a multi-awarded track runner. When it comes to his fishing and hunting, Tye has been known to get up as early as 4 a.m. on a Saturday – these are true passions.

Tye started his feature film career as a teenager playing ‘Steve’ in Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” alongside superstars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. He also was outstanding in “Mud” by director Jeff Nichols and starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. The film tells the tale of two teenage boys who encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trailer and reunite him with his true love.

Tye also played ‘Gary’ in the film “Joe” which stars Nicholas Cage about an ex-con, who is the unlikeliest of role models, meets a 15-year-old boy, and is faced with the choice of redemption or ruin. The roles kept coming in 2014 as he appeared in the film The Forger and on TV he appeared in the series “Last Man Standing” in a recurring role as Justin. The year 2015 credits include “Last Days in the Desert” “Entertainment” and “Scouts vs. Zombies.” For 2016 he had roles in “The Yellow Birds,” X-Men: Apocalypse, and “Detour.” Sheridan’s more recent roles included the feature “Grass Stains,” (2017),  “Friday’s Child” (2018), and “Ready Player One” (2018) among others. Sheridan played Scott Summers Cyclops in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” (2019), he is expected to be a success past his teen years.

Tye is known for his comic wit. He would amuse his parents with such comedy as imitations, beginning at the mere age of three. While filming Tree of Life, he relocated with his mother and sister to Smithville for four months.

Besides sports and the outdoors, his other hobbies include riding four-wheelers and being with friends and family. Along with his parents and younger sister, Madison, the entire family is proud of Tye, his many achievements, and many to come.

Modesty Blaise

Came on the scene in “The Tree of Life” and right away established himself as a talented teen actor.

Tye Sheridan is a fine young actor.

Good actor but I think The Tree of Life is pure rubbish.

Dark Phoenix is such a letdown.
