
Kristen Stewart was born on April 9, 1990, and became one of the top child and teen actresses throughout the 2000s starting in 1999 with an uncredited role in the made-for-TV movie “The Thirteenth Year.” The following year in 2000 she started her prolific run of the 2000s with another uncredited appearance in the box office bomb “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas” but it was all uphill from there.
Focusing on her child and teen roles only, Kristen played Sam Jennings in the 2001 well-received drama “The Safety of Objects” and followed that up with a role where she became well known to a wider audience by playing Jodie Foster’s diabetic daughter trapped in a high-security safety room when violent thieves invade their home in the crime thriller “Panic Room.”
Kristen in 2003 played Kristen Tilson in “Cold Creek Manor” next to Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone, in the film a family from the city moves to a dilapidated house in the country where strange things began to happen. The year 2004 saw Kristen a big part of 3 features, “Speak,” “Catch That Kid” with Max Thieriot and Corbin Bleu, and the southern thriller “Undertow” with Jamie Bell and Devon Alan.
Kristen’s prolific acting continued in 2005 with “Zathura: A Space Adventure” and “Fierce People” and after a two-year screen hiatus she returned in 2007 starring in the horror-thriller “The Messengers,” the romantic comedies “In the Land of Women” and “The Cake Eaters” and the excellent Sean Penn directorial effort “Into the Wild” Based on the novel about the true story of Christopher McCandless.
In the year 2008, Kristen appeared in “The Yellow Handkerchief,” “What Just Happened” and was reunited with both Jamie Bell (Undertow) and Max Thieriot (Catch that Kid) in “Jumper” about a teenager with teleportation abilities.
Kristen rounded out her teen star years playing Bella Swan in the first of 5 Twilight movies with 2008s “Twilight,” “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” (2009), and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (2010) when she was 20 years old at that time. She also took time for the features “Adventureland” (2009), “Welcome to the Rileys” (2010), and “The Runaways” (2010).
An outstanding young actress from her childhood and teen years Kristen was nominated 4 times for the Young Artist Award, Best Performance in a Feature Film – Leading Young Actress for Panic Room (2003), and Best Performance in a Feature Film – Supporting Young Actress for Cold Creek Manor (2004), Undertow (2005) and Into the Wild (2008). She has also been nominated for and won several Teen Choice awards.
Kristen has worked steadily through her childhood and teen years and continues to this day to be a mainstay in Hollywood.
