The Naked City (1958)

Page 1 of 4Next

There are 8 million stories in The Naked City....This is one of them.

What a TV show, what quality, the show is way before my time but I have discovered it on Amazon Prime Video and I am just enjoying this time capsule.

The police drama series takes a look at the lives of the detectives of New York's 65th Precinct with an emphasis on the human drama the true crime in the city of that day and the detectives out of that precinct.

Each and every show is superbly presented, acting, writing these stories just draw you in, they do not make shows like this folks. I have been slowly discovering these classics like The Fugitive, Route 66 you name it and they are all quality but this show is up there with the best in the history of television.

I am enjoying each and every episode immensely loving just not the quality stories but the time capsule look at the late 50s and early 1960s New York City, just looking at everything in each scene the buildings the people and the cars oh the cars an America I was not yet a part of and a treat to enjoy through quality shows such as this.

Another enjoyable part of watching these old classics are the guest stars that show up many of them just starting out and unknowns at that time who went on to be big stars such as a very young Christopher Walken in one episode.

Never heard of this show and you have Amazon Prime Video then just look for it and enjoy quality TV that very few of today's series can match.

Saturday Night at the Movies.

A fantastic show that I am also now watching on Amazon Prime Video just watched an episode tonight by the wat I just started only on episode 3 of the series. Also what I love about the series is seeing the city of NY at that time period, the buildings the people how they dressed, and oh the cars it is like a museum for spotting great vintage cars.

Just to be clear these visual treats are not the only draw to this show it is a fantastic woven of tales of the detectives from the single precinct and the cases the encounter wit the touch of human dram along wit the crime action.

Another immense quality show from when TV eas actually entertaining, this show is first-rate in every department, they don't make feature-length films these days as good as this series.

Youth is wasted on the young.

Top-notch police drama with a look at the human side of police work, NY finest at their finest showcasing a different time in the USA unlike today's brain dead calls to defund and abolish police by leftist trash.

A fantastic series that I am also watching now in sequence, tonight I watched the episode "Sidewalk Fisherman" al about those who fish lost coins from the bottom of the subway grates on sidewalks.

This old guy a sidewalk fisherman wants to adopt an orphaned kid and he is also getting strongarmed form some younger punks who also do the sidewalk fishing.

A good human interest drama and many of the episodes lean that way putting a human tough to the NYC Detectives of the featured precinct and the lives of the people of NYC.

Very good episode
