Taxi

One of the best TV comedies for sure and deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as Taxi, Night Court and WKRP etc.
Of the stellar and hilarious cast only Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and Max Gail (Wojo) are still with us at this writing, Ron Glass (Harris), Steve Landesberg (Dietrich), Ron Carey (Levit) and Jack Soo as Yemana have all passed, Soo while the show was still in production.
RIP and thanks for the laughs they live on.
Barney Miller was another outstanding comedy, the TV these days can't hold a candle to these classic shows they were well written and well-acted.

Quote from monk on January 5, 2021, 2:01 pmA 1970s TV comedy gem and so many great comedies came from that era such as Barney Miller, Sanford & Son, and Mary Tyler Moore as examples.
One of my favorites and the funniest episodes of "Taxi" is from season 4 and episode 20 in this episode titled 'Elegant Iggy' in this episode (Laughing as I type) Elaine is invited to a high society dinner, with Reverend Jim as her date, need I say more if you are familiar with the show, hilarity ensues.

Indeed, that is a classic episode from an iconic and classic TV series, and still today it remains a gem from the glorious days of TV from the 80s TV started deteriorating but still, that decade had decent shows, the 50s to the 70s is TVs finest time.

I would agree and some decent shows were also in the 80s such as "Seinfeld" which actually premiered in 1989 but might be best known as a 90s show.
