I know he was not very well known as Leif Garrett, but I was first introduced to him when I saw "Mame" the 1974 musical film, I believe it was his only feature film role but he had many appearances as a guest star in TV shows of the 70s.

I thought he was adorable in the film and I thought we had another child actor who would be in many films to come, through the 70s he was in well-recognized shows of that time for those of us who came through the 70s.

Shows such as Marcus Welby, M.D, The F.B.I, Adam-12, Emergency, Police Story, The Odd Couple, and Cannon to name a few. I know many here likely never heard of him or have heard of or seen "Mame" for the matter but Kirby has a place on this site honoring former child and teen stars.

@trapped, Thumbs UP a nice post. he is an unknown as you said to most as all his work was in the 70s and I believe one credit in 1980 and that was it, along with a stellar cast in "Mame" and then lots of staple 70s TV shows, nice post again.

I have heard of the film but have never seen it, I am not a fan of Musicals but maybe I should find it and see if I can sit through it.

So right, never heard of him or the movie, and it certainly doesn't sound like something I would bother watching.
