Flight of the Navigator

Page 1 of 4Next

Twelve-year-old Davey falls into a ravine in the woods and when he wakes up that he's been missing for eight years, everyone has changed except him and so is the storyline of "Flight of the Navigator" (1986).

Canadian teen actor Joey Cramer plays Davey the boy whose whole world has changed, his little brother is now his big brother and his parents have aged, all of this makes him an interest of the government who turn him into a guinea pig as they probe him in each way possible for what he might know.  Was he a victim of alien abduction?

Flight of the Navigator might seem a bit dated today but back in 86 it was all the rage and was and is still one of the best Sci-fi family movies ever made and an original from Disney who at that time still put out good family films.

I first saw this gem on VHS as it is before my time and I completely enjoyed it, recently when I remembered the film I  got it for some young relatives to watch and you would not believe the look on their faces as they enjoyed this movie so it remains a treat even for kids of today.

Flight of the Navigator is an awesome '80s movie it has a decent  story filled with special effects and lots of excitement. The cast is excellent with young Cramer excellent as David we also see Sarah Jessica Parker in an early role, Veronica Cartwright and Cliff De Young as the parents, and Howard Hesseman as the film's antagonist.

I recommend this film even these many years later kids of today will enjoy this over what we see put out as family entertainment these days.

Have you seen it and what do you think of Flight of The Navigator?

My dad said he loved Flight of the Navigator as a kid, he showed it to us when I was about 11 and it was pretty cool, the boy was cute. cx

I love "Flight of the Navigator" I must have watched the DVD dozens of times since I was first introduced to this oldie.

This is a cool movie, we have the DVD I first watched the video when I was about 10 and loved it, have not watched it now in a few years. I thought how cool when he was piloting the saucer, every kid would love to do that.

The movie is cool and the kid was cool also but now as an adult, he is in all kinds of trouble I mean he even robbed a bank, drug bust been in prison on weapons charges this guy is what you look up when you hear about child stars turning out bad.

I think this topic was created about the movie and the kid star who acted in it and how much kids loved the movie, not about the unfortunate troubles the actor has now as a grown man. I prefer to remember him as he was in the movie and wish him luck to turn things around.

@Camb Fan, while it is admirable that you want to steer talk of his trouble away, unfortunately, it is relevant public information. While many did enjoy the movie and his work in it as a child it should not protect him from scrutiny about his actions. The fact that he was a child star make it more newsworthy but these things did not happen because he WAS a child star.

That being said the movie was also a very good memory from my childhood and wish him well.

Seems this movie is in the library of lots of families because this is in our DVD collection also and I first watched it at about 10 and I thought it rocked, watched it over and over a few times before I got tired of it. lol

Yes, it sure is one of my fav DVD's when I was a kid,  an awesome movie but have not seen it since I was about 11 or 12.

Eat the Rich

One of my fav DVD's as a kid must have worn it out, would love to see how this looked on the big screen.
