I think from the article seeing Haley at the Oscar party for "The Red Violin" he mentioned that he was thrown by how adult little Haley Joel Osment seemed. I always had that same impression of Haley, just see any of his interviews as a child like the one on his page here.
About the movie, it is not as bad as some make it out to be at all it is certainly watchable.
You are all being far too kind the movie is rubbish, plain and simple, complete and utter rubbish that belongs at the tip.
