David Lee Gallagher a native of College Point, N.Y., was born on February 9, 1985, David Gallagher and is widely known for his role as Simon on the hit series 7th Heaven which ran on the WB Network for ten seasons before airing for the final season on The CW after WB and UPN merged.
Looking at David’s roles in his child and teen years spanning from his debut in 1993 to 2005, well before 7th Heaven he played Mikey Ubriacco in “Look Who’s Talking Now” (1993) playing the son of John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. Two years later he played Steve Pomeroy in the made-for-TV thriller “It Was Him or Us” (1995) and did some voice work for “Whisper of the Heart” (1995).
For 1996 David appeared in two Made for TV movies “Secrets of the Bermuda Triangle” and “Summer of Fear.” That same year he again appeared with John Travolta in the feature “Phenomenon” playing Al. This same year he kicked off his 10-year run of playing Simon Camden in the series “7th Heaven.”
Gallagher also appeared on the TV series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “The Wild Thornberrys,” “The Wonderful World of Disney” and voice work on “Rocket Power.”
In 1998 he starred as Richie Rich in the direct-to-video “Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish,” in 2001 he played David in “Little Secrets” and in 2003 he starred as Scott McKenna in “Kart Racer.” David wrapped up his teen years by appearing in the 2005 film “The Quiet” as Brian and that ends our look at his child and teen starring years.
As a child and teen actor, David was nominated five times for a Young Artist Award and twice for a Teen Choice Award, winning it in 2003 for Choice TV Actor – Drama/Action-Adventure, 7th Heaven. He also had four YoungStar Awards, winning in 1998 for Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Drama TV Series, 7th Heaven.
David Gallagher is a success story as a former child actor and has continued working steadily right up to the series D.P.D. Echo 1 where he is expected to play Cpl. Joe Keller.
