Corbin Bleu was born on February 21, 1989, in Brooklyn, New York City, as Corbin Bleu Reivers. He started out at the age of two by appearing in television commercials for products such as Life cereal, Bounty, Hasbro, and Nabisco, and at just the age of four was a model with the Ford Modeling Agency in New York. Corbin also started dancing lessons at the age of two specializing in jazz and ballet.
Corbin in his child and teen acting years is well known for his roles in the films “Catch That Kid” and the Disney Channel High School Musical movie series. He is much more than a film actor having appeared off-Broadway at the age of six in the play “Tiny Tim is Dead” and later on Broadway.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1996 with his family Corbin was cast in a recurring role in the television series “High Incident” (1996). He also landed small roles in feature films such as “Beach Movie” (1998), “Soldier” (1998), “Mystery Men” (1999), “Galaxy Quest” (1999) and “Family Tree” (1999). He also guest-starred on such television shows as “ER” (1994), “Malcolm & Eddie” (1996), “The Amanda Show” (1999) and “Cover Me” (2000).
Corbin’s popularity soared after appearing in the film “Catch That Kid” (2004) in his first lead role along with Kristen Stewart and Max Thieriot. The next year he landed a role in the TV series “Flight 29 Down” a kind of Lost for Kids and also filmed in Hawaii.
Another big break came when he was cast as Chad Danforth in the Disney TV movie “High School Musical” (2006) which further increased his popularity with pre-teen and teen audiences. The following year he played Izzy Daniels in another Disney TV entry titled “Jump In!.”
The rest of his teen years he worked steadily doing voice work for “The Secret of the Magic Gourd” (2007), appearing in the sequel “High School Musical 2” (2007) and the TV movie “Flight 29 Down: The Hotel Tango” based on the series. In 2008 the third sequel “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
Other work included voice work on the series “Phineas and Ferb” (2009), he played Johnny Collins in two episodes of “Hannah Montana” spanning two years once in 2006 and again in 2008. He wrapped his teen years with the series “The Beautiful Life: TBL.”
Well after his teen years, he continues to work regularly in film, TV, and Broadway he has been married to actress Sasha Clements since 2016. Corbin Bleu is another actor who has beaten the so-called child star curse.
Star of some extremely lame Disney TV movies but not his fault since all Disney TV movies are lame.
My favorite back in the day movie with Corbin Bleu is “Jump In!.
Also now as mentioned a fine Broadway performer as I have had the distinct pleasure to attest to that.
Catch that Kid was my fav movie he did as a kid, I also like the series Flight 29 Down.
Back then my wall was filed with him and Zac Efron. 🙂
