Alexa Vega was born August 27, 1988, in Miami Florida at the time of her popularity on teen stars online she was best known for playing Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids films.

Before she became a household name and a fan favorite she had an extensive resume  by appearing  in several short films along with feature film roles such as “Little Giants” (1994), “Nine Months” (1995), “Twister” (1996), “The Glimmer Man” as Steven Seagal’s daughter. Other film roles were “Ghosts from the Past” (1996), The Deep End of the Ocean and NetForce.

She also guest-starred on numerous TV series such as “ER”, Chicago Hope, High Incident and The Magnificent Seven. Vega also had a role in made for TV movies such as It Was Him or Us (1995), A Promise to Carolyn (1996) and Shattered Mind. She had series regular roles on Evening Shade, Life’s Work and To Have & to Hold.

These lead to worldwide fame with the 2001 role as “Carmen Cortez” in Spy Kids the film was a huge success and spawned two sequels, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over It was reported she performed most of her own stunts. Years later in 2011, Vega appeared in the sequel, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World as a grown Carmen Cortez.

Thanks to the Spy Kids films she was named one of that year’s hottest teen celebrities in the July 2003 issue Vanity Fair. After the third Spy Kids film as expected her film and TV roles increased as the following year in 2004, Vega finished filming two films: Sleepover and State’s Evidence. Then the following year she starred in the Lifetime television film entitled Odd Girl Out as a victim of cyber-bullying.

Right through her teen years she also appeared in the made-for-TV movie, Walkout the feature Remember the Daze, Repo! The Genetic Opera, which was released in 2008. Alexa even went on to appear on Broadway in Hairspray, as Penny In 2009.

As we look back at her time as a child and teen actress she moved into her twenties and continued her steady flow of film and TV roles right through to this day, we can for sure say Alexa Vega has become a successful adult actress and mom.

No shock her that the second movie is winning, most people I know that is their fav.

The second movie was my fav but I liked all three, I don’t even count that 4th useless one.
